Documenting Section 508 Conformance
The Americans with Disabilites Act (ADA) establishes accessiblity requirements for the construction or alteration of facilities in the private sector (places of public accommodation and commercial facilities) and the public sector (state and local government facilities). The ADA Accessibility Guidelines (published in conjunction with the Architectural Barriers Act Accessiblity Guidelines as the ADA-ABA Accessiblity Guidelines) provide guidance for meeting the requirements established by the ADA. The guidelines do not apply specifically to the types of devices covered by this website, but they do represent best practices for accessibility and are presented here as design recommendations.
