Kentucky Procurement Accessibility Statutes:
Legislative Code: K.R.S. § 61.980, 61.982, 61.984, 61.986, 61.988, Kentucky Accessible Information Technology Statute http://www.lrc.state.ky.us/KRS/061-00/980.PDF K.R.S. § 61.980 provides definitions used in the statutes. K.R.S. § 61.982 provides that information technology equipment and software used by employees, program participants, or members of the general public "[p]rovide individuals with disabilities, including blind or visually impaired, or deaf or hard of hearing, with access, including, but not limited to interactive use of equipment and services, that is equivalent to the access provided individuals who are not disabled, blind or visually impaired, or deaf or hard of hearing; [and] are designed to present information, including, but not limited to, prompts used for interactive communication in formats intended for both visual and nonvisual use." In addition, requires information technology be purchased under contract that contains the technology access clause, which is described in K.R.S. § 61.984. K.R.S. § 61.986 provides for exclusion of the technology access clause in certain instances.
